well its day 4.. i think the jet lag has officially wore off. We are +6 hrs ahead of eastern standard time.
Can't talk long kinda at work lol but here's a quick list of observations:
Weather/Climate
The environment is beautiful extremely bright vibrant green vegetation.. the flowers i mean every time i walk outside I'm thinking to myself have they sprayed some aphrodisiac because it smells so good. Perfect for rollablading & biking (which most do bc the gas prices are high).
the people
eh I heard about the elitist euro attitude i def seem some of that.. i don't even think its racism per say but just we don't like americans lol. Its a turn off because Bahrain was super friendly and these folks are the extreme opposite. Most of the signs are in german so you def are put into a position to ask for help time to time.
food
not cool for vegetarians this meat city out here lol. Let me explain the hotel breakfast bar: everyday i eat fruit & dry cereal why its nothing but a spread of meats & cheese - WTF lol sux!
Luckily even though Ive had salad EVERYDAY man they are GOOD! Had an authentic homemade pretzel, tried walnut ice cream (yes I've been a bad fake-vegan.. this the 3rd time in a month i've had homemade iceream- which is sooo hard to say no to- BUT that's whole nother post I need to tighten up my diet). Although i hate beer i do want to try one lol since its beer country out here as well
style/shopping
well i was PRESS to visit the original H&M which man they are like on every block.. the EUR/Germany style is fab! One thing I always do on these trips is pick up local fashion mags even if they aren't in english.. i just wanna see the pics and I can google the brands lol.
I only bought 1 VISA card with me and I'm going to the mall afterwork today but honestly .. as much as I would love to buy a bunch of clothes a sista cant! (will explain later but I'm on a budget now lol)
I'm looking forward to buying bags of loose and maybe a tea cup set. I've been getting sencha (green tea) with my breakfast at the hotel.. O-M-G! like I buy premium tea back in DC (not Teavana I go to chin chin chang in georgetown) so i'm used to drinking the best stuff but the tea over here craps on all the tea i buy in DC.
I wish i had a nice home bc one of the trades over here in germany are coo-coo clocks. That would be unique and wonderful to have in a home.. just 1 though anymore than that is too noisy LOL. I wish i had the funds to get a eur made watch ... :sadface:
