finally finishing M-->A Recap

no need for the apologies, lets pretend I never went away..lets resume this blog/reader relationship without involving the law..seriously I gotta get my time management together because I missed sharing my thoughts/life with the world but alas the lets get right to the blogging:


1. Job Situation-Here's the last mini-recap. The current situation is I'm working with lets call this company U-sys on the TRICARE project w/ Defense. I called this job the dream job because it was targeted for mid-career persons who wished to receive on the job mentoring to move into senior leval work, they also talked about traveling around to do security assessments at different sites (still w/ the D-dept)..I've learned alot but I've haven't been able to apply that knowledge hell no. First they treating me like a IT newbie, I'm like son I've been doing this 5 years so that's a strike. Then its been a big mix up they hired me to do some Quality Assurance crap which is basically document review(boring) when I'm used to more hands on.. not to mention QA people don't travel- no thrills at all. So my boss knows im not happy hopefully changes will come (ain't know trusting the MAN).. The jobs been sour grapes they stuck me sitting in the old secretary desk.. performing crap like copying, signing for packages..and more crap I don't even want to think about.. Its hard because I'm being paid well but on the same hand I'm 25 driven and motivated and well equipped to handle more duties so this is more motivation for me to get my CISSP which will grant me automatic respect in the industry so I won't have to deal w/ bull 'ish situations like this. The job taken a toll on me emotional because I had such high expectations that were crushed in addition to feeling like a college intern w/ this work they been assigning to me so I've been praying alot which has lifted my mood because the first few weeks I was down down down.. sad but there's no where to go but Up after this!

2. CISSP Class- Man...class is done no more driving to Neptune aka Reston, VA... the class turned out to be good worth the $250 tag.. I have to continue to work on studying for the exam once class is done because IC2 (organization that owns the exam has amped up the requirements to make a person have more years in the game before they can get the cert) so i gotta be on IT! At least now will make my Cert even more prestigious since they are making it harder for just anyone to get it. One good thing about U-sys is they will pay for me to go to boot camp (2000$ value and the exam $500 value).


3. Mary J. Blige concert- Guess I can start my countdown soon.. if you haven't heard b/c it surely was NOT advertised luckily I have friends that know of my love for Mary, so they alert me for every function, video, show etc She's doing a show at the Richmond Coliseum 17 July on a Tuesday LOL.. you know I'm off my half day status at work.. but its been hard finding someone to go with me but regardless I'm in there off my FLOOR seats..

4. Julie Dexter- Tonight I'm going to her show and please if you never heard of this song bird check out her site www.Juliedexter.com. She's a neo-soul jazzy blend so I'll post my concert review tomorrow ( I promise)! The show is D.C Blues Alley club on Wisconsin ave, basically Georgetown $25 8pm and 10pm show.. if you want to slide through.

5. Miscellaneous- FYI I'm still doing my vegetarian thing, mind you its been a struggle with all the cookout fumes wafting through the hood but I'm holding my own and enjoying my meals!

I joined my local community gym which been great; been lifting weights (lightly), swimming trying to continue to get in shape, loose weight, be healthy!

No new major purchases to report LOL although my PC did crash( another reason why I wasn't able to blog) So I had to cop a used joint at the best used PC store in the area (PC RETRO).. took some of the old pieces from my old machine into the new one. Plan on getting a 250GB drive to back up my massive mp3 collection but that's in the future I'm actually focusing on saving a lil money and paying down my bills.. but my summer purchase list is still there in the background waiting... guess I'll go back to work now they pressing me about going to Reston (aka Neputune) for some training 'ish !!!!!!!!!! But here's the hot fashion item to take us out

Backward recap of the past few weeks (yes I've been bad blogger once again- April had me out for the count!!): This is why I have no blogger fanbase.. Im so inconsistent.. please forgive me...shout out to my true readers

1. I'm mad it took me about 2 weeks to get a new badge and new smart card since I switched contractors jobs.. that's defense for you but I'm just happy i can be semi-product although sitting there for 8 hours w/o any net access made believe that im not the net junkie I thought i was.. no twitching no sitting in the corner sweating LOL.. although I felt like I was in the dark ages (news wise) I did jive alright ...

2. Me god son and his mama went to the Cherry blossom festival for the first time. It was pretty cool (weather wise).. he was sleeping the whole way. We wanted to go for the boat ride around the Potomac.. but here's a word to the wise you have to RSVP cuz.. homeboy was not letting us on the boat.. next year I will try again.. maybe hit the tea party Cherryblossom boat ride.

3. Wizards- Oh man so much I can say.. but I won't elaborate.. Caron went down, Gil went down.. we 0-3 in the play offs.. Cya next season!
a. Playoffs in general: Detroit expected 4-0, Miami- WOW not a sweep.. D. Wade get better, Cavs- bout to be 4-0 yall still suck, Mavs- hope yall go down, can't stand them or Dirk!! Utah Houston- intruging going for Utah, Nets/Raptors- Jason Kidd is a beast, Lakers/Phoenix- Phoenix is my pick to win it all, Denver/Spurs- eh' Spurs will probably win.

The history behind this bag; it was a promotion only bag back in winter of 06...I suspect its back as promotion bag (spring??) because all winter i barely saw people w/ this bag and while driving home the other day through DC i spotted like 3 chicks with it..which mean this tote is out of rotation for at least a year..which is cool I didn't wear it much because it was a lil larger than i thought it would be.

Had some serious 'ish go down in the family: my neice and newphew were involved in a bad car accident.. might have seen it on the news. Police SUV slams into Honda Civic...my nephew is OK..just tore knee ligaments he has been discharge .. my neice (driver) took most of the damage.. she still in ICU but is improving..she's responding to commands, moving her body parts but it will be a long journey on the road of recovery but GOD and time is on her side..they are only 22..

Got my first bike ride of the season in Sunday- yippee.. did about 2 miles around the lake. I'm feeling it too legs stuff but I wasn't as winded as I thought I would be..The lake was packed with the mexicanos..folks down at the shore taking weddings pic (LOL).. mad BBQs going on..I had to be strong because Im on week 4 of the Vegetarian lifestyle.. and I've been telling my folks once I hit a month I'm good. It has been easier than I thought and I really haven't been fixing the crucial veggie dishes like I want due to lack of funds.. but I had salmon salad last week at my going away luncheon at work joint was bomb. I picked up a Burrito at the organic market joint was bomb (and first time I had mexican food that did not come from chiptole).
I'm tired of being joaned on by my black people.. calling me hippie then calling me a fake vegetarian because I still drink milk.. I'm like loosers vegans are the ones that don't take any animal products so basically the new rule is kelolo is not explaining her food choices to anyone anymore cuz somebody always gonna say something negative!!

Just had a tour of PG County thanks to my sis springing on me the task of taking my neice down to meet some chick so they can head back to NCCU today.. not mad at the abruptness mad at the time factor 730am! Everyone knows Ke doesn't get up before 12 on weekends unless I'm going to church. So i'm hoping my body will wind back down so I can get a lil nap this morning.. I should stay up go to church but I"m tired yesterday I had a long day.
While on my tour I finally saw the 'rich' area of PG .. Always knew Upper Marlboro was up there in value, but I was passing signs for homes starting at 500,000-1,000,000 -zany!!

Speaking of expensive prices let me give a quick recap of my hunt for a new apartment in Greenbelt aka lil Bethesda. Yes I'm spoiled having rent of less than 900 and I can easily get a 2 bedroom in my complex for probably 1100 but I wanted to move away for my current area, not that I'm unhappy just want a change and more space. Called up a few places down the street, they quoting 1300-1400 for 1 bedroom 1500+ for 2 bedroom. I was floored!! Yes Greenbelt is kinda fake white and my rent is low cuz i live in the quote "hood" of the city but whatever its no reason for them to be charging Montgomery Co. prices for apt because they have been renovated. I decided to stay put not only because of the crazy rent but because I'm about to start this new gig and I can't take the stress of moving on top of a new job...so I'll stay put for another year and work on Project fake renovate apt. My problem was I been living here will be 4 years in May and every year I was I'm not gonna by because I always said I 'm moving when my lease is up. My apt is fully furnished and quite homely but my vice is I don't have any bedroom furniture so I literally live out of clothes baskets and plastic tubs, granted my walk in closet is huge and holds most of my clothes is just not organized in my bedroom, always clothes/crap on the floor. My livingroom bookshelf has been out of space for over a year, hence crates of books in the floor... so I will ikea it up so I can maximize the space I have while keeping my home organized.

CISSP Class review:
Sometimes I forget I work in a industry of Geeks...the folks in this class were up there w/ their dockers and plaid shirt blends Now I'm not trying to be the pot calling the kettle back cuz deep inside of this ghetto exterior are some crucial g33ky ways lol.. I'm just so cool and chill with it you wouldn't know I was into the PC scene unless the convo was on the subject.. It was only 4 girls in the class but I"m glad I wasn't the only sister!! I was not that impressed w/ the teacher, he was a lil unorganized and dry. More ammo for me becoming an IT teacher one key to getting your students learning is to present the material in the most interesting way. One thing that kills me anywhere I go is bammas that read the powerpoint slide directly You are supposed to expand on the bulleted points not regurgitate the f-ing material.. God that makes me so mad when folks do it!!

Dream I had:
To dream that you are on a boat, denotes fruitful endeavors and that your plans will go off without a hitch. Luck will be right beside you.
Makes me happy because I am stressed thinking about this new job and class etc etc...

Slipped up with some shopping:
I had been doing quite well not purchasing stuff but I rolled up to Smile Herb in College Park Sat because I had beeen doing research on what natural products my mom can use to help her arthris. I bought her something called Elephant Balm to soothe the aches and swelling, the pills I want to buy her cost a grip so I'm looking for cheaper solution on the net. I'm trying some new vitamins called Women's Iron support, hopefully they will get me some energy and keep my blood flowing so that I'm not cold al the time, plus I need the extra boost with my new meatless diet. My two splurges were some homemade soap (8.95):
