presenting ....... HM

HM aka High Maintenance is the name of my bonsai plant.

My Asian co-worker broke down the science behind this hobby. Basically the art is to grow the tree so that its stays miniature and grows in a design that is breath taking.
Its plant slavery because to achieve these results one must bind the branches with wire and prune away the branches so that it will grow in the direction dictated by the owner. My little baby bonsai isn't the pretty type but its special "attribute" is that the roots grow above ground. I haven't figured out a plan for how to take care of this sukka but I will soon because these plants can live for 10yrs+ and the longer you own them the more you can sell it for, thus the plant is now an investment lol.

It's time to update my wants list.. after years of surviving with a broke Dooney & Bouke wristlet with a broke zipper and that replacement D&B that broke, I finally caught a Macys sale the featured a reduced Coach Wristlets. Coupled with my xmas gift card I saved, bought the total bill to 18$ for:
$70 Retail price on sale for 40 -$25 gift card= 18 bill.

I have a new item on the list $20 Chanel nailpolish. Found in this month's INstyle featuring Rianna who has come a LONG way fashion wise she pulled a Lil' Wayne on society because she is fab now (not a huge fan of music but I respect it and her look is Great!!).
Anyway I'm sad to say I'm displeased with the MAC laquer. The colors rock but I cannot deal with the chipping. I've tried every no chip top color but by day 2 its a hot mess! Now folks feel Capladyz spend without any thought or rational, so not true. All we desire is quality products now if that comes through a top label so be it. I love and respect MAC makeup but the polish does not cut it for my fingers, stays on OK with my toes (weird) so I'm willing to to pay for the Chanel polish and hope that it will look good and stay on without any chipping. I'm a fashion magazine fanatic and INstyle is one of my favs so I'm going to trust their recommendiation on the polish.

I'm done the Kimora book which was WAY better than what I thought Full review will be up by the weekend.

Mom in town only 2 more days loving the QT but tired of the naggin lol must go now and put out some laundry for her to wash tomorow while I'm at work since apparently, I don't do a good job lol.

Enjoying tonight's full moon

Yes the moon energy is transiting my sign here some sage wisdom on what this means:

The Moon is in Capricorn all day. We are especially aware of the need for structure and planning ahead under this influence, and we are instinctively aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success--achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.

Full moon energy can be felt days after the actual event has ended..but moving on...

My mom's in town for a week. Takes a while for us to warm back up to sharing a living space but we enjoy each others company(eventually)- we both won't be around forever, so have to make the most of of the visit. Possible trip to see the DC panda on Monday or maybe go see the new baby sea turtle at the DC Aquarium.

My aunt came to drop off my mom to my apt while I was work. I asked her to pick me up a new plant because one of mines died. I currently have 1 cactus, 1 plant (passed down from a coworker i don't know what the hell it is) and my old spider plant that I killed because it got too much sun light. So I specifically tell her buy a new plant that can live in apartment or chill on the balcony LOW MAINTENANCE! Now ask me what I found when I got home from work.

That is an Bonsai Ficus Ginseng Plant. Actually when I googled it bammas on-line said its a Tree not a plant. She bought me a tree for my apt!!! Bonsai at that, I've seen those folks on tv with the tool sets snipping away- I'm not a gardener I don't have time to treat a plan like a child- plus I think she was secretly mocking me and my natural lifestyle. Like I drink ginseng tea am I supposed to hack at my plant when I have the need for energy- LMAO on that note I'm out.

Ill post some pics of my actual "tree" lata.

Some Monday night bloggin

What up folks..cranking my new fav dance artist Kaskade, burning an insence, giving myself a green clay facial!

Before I got any further I must give praise to Blackberries, I admit I was a windows mobile whore for years until I began to hear people sice the push email functionality only found on blackberries so I kept saying.. Imma switch Imma switch ... after years of
short battery life and then my quick stint with the Verizon EN-V I was like no more no more! Cop a used from Ebay ($130) because VWZ wanted about 300$ for the blackberry curve and I wasn't giving them all that money until I was sure I was ready to really be in the BB family. 6 weeks later Im kicking myself for not converting earlier in life, like this thing rocks! It holds masses of txt, the email is great, no laggy apps, great battery life, google apps intergration. It already saved my life. I recently went to NYC with a friend who does not like to plan and of course I didn't know how to get around so I said let me open this google maps maybe it can help us out. Call me a bamma but I had no idea I had GPS in my pocket, siced me. Put in the address of the restaurant we wanted to go and the joint mapped it out w/ highlights the lil dot followed me as I walked, even had the metro station listed cuz we sho' nuff took the train back to Port Authority 20blk walk ain't fun. Only thing about this oldskool berry is I miss my camera phone- what yall know about camera phone shopping with your girls (whole nother post lol). I will probably upgrade to a Curve or whatever the hot (non touchscreen) model is at the end of the year when my little Verizon upgrade discount kicks in.

Back to NYC- now I'm not the biggest NYC fan but I'm trying to get over my stereotypes and enjoy the "big city". I actually stayed in a small town in NJ right over the bridge talk about a bomb view of Manhattan. All the homes in this area cost big bread but the view was amazing esp at night and only about 10 mins into city Holland Tunnel exit right at your back door. I would put in a transfer asap but nah I'd miss DC too much plus I don't have the NYC attitude (too country lol).

Late Review went to this Poetry joint July 3rd- 1st Thursday's at The @ttic (aka old Cada Vez) The Lounge at Station 9. 1438 U Street, NW
For a free event it was Great!! The feature was a guy named Asia from Florida who has performed on Def Poetry Jam The ambiance was chill, comfy sofas low lights you know the whole mother soul modern vibe. We sat with the meetup.com folks because that's how my girl found this event. I checked out meetup's site later its actually pretty good for finding new things to do in the area that you are interested in without it having the preconcieved notion of 'hooking' up with folks. Hit the front page they have events ranging from "Celebrity hair weaving techniques" to "Bowie MD Soccor". I joined the DC Fashion and DC Electronic Music groups and I plan to hit their events to see what's good.

Before I roll got 7am staff meeting tomorrow the funniest thing about Station 9 was the food menu. On there was the GHETTIOST thing I ever seen in my life- EVER!
Yes young! Ooodle n Noodles on a menu- LMAO! Like they should called it something else like anything else to mask the ghetto'ness I never laughed so hard in my life.

Happy Birthday Tai-Shan

Lets count how many times the words "errors" and "delays were used in this article:
Tanker Bidding To Be Reopened
Key Quote-"The deal to replace the Air Force's entire fleet could be worth up to $100 billion over the next two decades."
The fountain won't stop flowing!

NBA Off-Season

Its NBA off season (most boring time of the year- nothings on TV for me to watch). Anyway our free agents Gil and Jamison have been resigned and the wiz have committed to over off the top of my head at least 118 million in salary for the next 4years+. I'm going to be frank I think they paid too much ( 4 years/ 50 mil) for Jamison he's 32. This is another reason why the NBA has gotten soft everyone gets big contracts just because. For example Ben Gordon, Loul Deng, Iggy, Omeka you guys are not max contract players- all of them turned down extensions looking for big cake; only Iggy went to play-offs. Now I'm not denying Jamison's talent (double double guy) but he should not be getting 10 mill per year at his age maybe 6-7 but I know he's key to the wiz locker room/leadership but hellooo the Wiz are going to be capped out and honestly I don't know if we are structured to get to the top of the eastern conference. Our draft picks have been a little weak and our MLE signing besides DeShawn and Daniels slum Haywood finally holding down the middle but we need a banger in the paint to give this team some toughness because we got the offense down pact but thats only ½ of the game. Its really going to come down to Abe going over the lux tax in the future because basically 'we ain't got much money now'. Its going to be challenging because most teams are working hard to get under the cap for 2010 when Bron James on the 03 crew become unrestricted free agents so players are going to gravitate to the team who got the money to pay them out of control contracts.
Strong leadership has to come from Gil, who I am a big fan of and he's great icon for Wiz basketball but he has to chill with the wild predictions step up more, play some defense and do all the things the highest paid player on the team should. Most people don't realize Gil is not a captain on the team (not decided for the upcoming season) but it has always been Caron and Antwan. I am hella leery of his big contract due to that knee but I knew he had to be retained I just hope we don't have Allan Houston situation or worse. Max Contracts are a luxury not an automatic privilege.
