bombdotCOM outside

manyeah! Friday morning stepped out to work I was like what the hell felt like a crisp Fall day. By noon the bldg was quiet.. total of 6 work related emails received.. folks playing hooky left and right lol.

Today's even better cuz-- Hey no work could enjoy the great weather all day. Of course I got out the bed bout 1:30 knocked out some sidework - had to send some invoices to customers need my money. Took my caddi out aka my 21 speed bike. Hit Lake Artmesia biked about 7 miles. I had to make a quick detour to Smile Herb Shop in College Park to pick up the BEST chapstick ever- Badger Balms.
"These dreamy new balms feature a rich base of certified organic cocoa butter, certified organic extra virgin olive oil, golden yellow beeswax and CO2 extracts of Seabuckthorn Berry and Rose Hip – natural, plant-based anti-oxidants. They also contain an organic Aloe Vera Extract for added dry weather protection."
Its expensive as hell like 4$ a stick/12$ for the 3-pack but man mositurizing and scented and glides well over lipglass. These the only chapsticks I have to make sure don't get thrown in laundry or lost in handbags cost too much to be replacing everymonth.

I also was able to test out my new hydropack. Now for those like wtf is that- Its a bookbag that holds water that you sip through a lil tube.
I wish I had made the investment years ago because it was so cool just riding and sipping without having to carry and pull out Gatorade bottle. I got a good deal on eBay for like 40$ cuz these packs can sell for 50$+ in real stores, joint in College Park wanted $100 I was like hell no that's a deposit towards a real purse lol. Speaking of I should have bought my camera but it was some 'model' chick walking around the lake in a striped bootyshort suit in wedge heels carrying a vicious MCM bag walking a lil puppy with a photographer following her around.. I don't know WTF was going on with that lol but she rekindled my need for a vintage MCM bag.

This week gonna be crazy my BFF going out of the country for two weeks so we spending time together Monday going to Triste Lounge in Adams Morgan..eh hope its fun cuz im like the only person whos not pressed over Adams Morgan. Tuesday supposd to be going to my first Nats game.. Wed-Friday working like a fiend than I'm participating in DC Restaurant week Sat (Bobby Vans Steakhouse) and Sunday (Merkado).

Anyway must go just informed the Redskins have a preason game on!!

*edit* My boy just hooked me up with a fogdog link just copped my 2nd Skins jersey hopefully i won't get cursed again and the bamma leave the team but the deal was great 43$ out the door.. its not authentic not like I care about that 'ish I just need something I can wear to work so folks know iRep the hometeam!

its August

grrr. I'm still around.. working like a slave. Peep my quote about work:

The fields are now offices, the cotton are computers!

My side-businesses of fixing PCs is picking up heavily so when I'm not holding down Defense, I'm still grinding !

Was in Atlantic City last weekend:

My mom used to take me every summer from like age 7-12, its not like I remember much other than boardwalk and the Taj Mahal but my aunt had a house on Baltic Ave (which I wish she never sold;black folks gotta learn to hang onto property). The area has changed alot nice outlet shopping in btw the neighborhoods and the boardwalk life. Happy my girl got her first Coach bag- I also have to say I left out of there with a few possessions:

Coach Travel bag aka le Cap_Lady's electronic's holder (love da pockets)

Keychain (start of a new addiction)

Hair Scarf

Other than shopping, got a lil' brown via the beach, lost 60$ at the casino, overall successful trip!

I have to rant about my new fav shopping experience Ideeli:
Its like an auction with a spin. There are two tiers of membership VIP user and regular. The advantage of being VIP is you get to bid on the sales one hour before everyone else and I don't know maybe you see auctions that others don't have access to. The auctions come in the form of a few emails a day (not always everyday) but trust they have some great deals; I have been tempted a time or two. Its invite only so if you can't get holla I will hook you up (women's fashion only lol)

As apart of my sidebusiness I had to meet a customer downtown at the Washington Post Company. What a grand experience lol- I kept waiting for someone to run in yelling "Breaking News" It was like being on a TV show due to so much activity going on, folks working on stories all the history hanging around the atmosphere was amazing. The lady I'm helping is retiring this month ... man plus I know someone working in WaPo IT dept really makes me wanna do a career exchange work in the technews section or something but I'm chilling for now.

I was on the train home one day and I saw someone reading using a Kindle. I know yall like wtf is that but its a e-book reader that Amazon.com (my fav site in the world) makes.
Its competing with the wack Sony E-book reader so it was good to actually see it in person.

Quick Fabulousity book review:
A surprisingly good read. One I started watching her little show Im so not into reality TV and I always thought Kimora was a fluke gold digger. I didn't know she had money before she met Russel. Though I'm hardly no PhatFarm/Baby Phat fan I do have mad respect for her for starting Baby Phat off the ground and for being a dedicated mom. I was sad to hear about her and Russel divorcing they were together for a min for bring Holly-wood Folks. For a 7$ used book (amazon.com) I enjoyed her tips on being a better woman/business woman- developing confidence, being able to manage different areas in your life (from the closet to the checkbook), taking care of you body, and trying to live the best lifestyle possible. I forgot she was a model and pretty tall so also being a 5'10 sista her tips for sicing the height helped me because I tend to not wanna stand out but hey gotta work what God gave me.

Chasing Destiny is a quick read found in the 5$ section at my local bookstore. Its been ages since I read black fiction from that (omar tyree/ eric jermon dickey / new fiction genre) One, the stories can be good but its all the same so I jumped into *embarrassed* Oprah fiction (handed down from my aunt) good reads genres all over.

My next read is David's Allen Getting Things Done (GTD). Its a whole world dedicated to that type of life organization. I read this book out of college thinking it would help me I was hardly in the go-hard working mindset lol so I need to re-read it now because I'm all over the place I feel like I need an assistant to help me balance my life and I'm close to hiring a maid because I"m so busy theses dayz I have to save all cleaning for the weekend.
Now my job got me into slight (baby) project management and trust I'm good at identifying what needs to be done, organizing 'ish, writing lists out but after that step stuff goes crazy and I'm getting things done randomly and not structured like I desire. I gotta fix that and develop a system that can help me stay straight at work and at home. Need make these millions so I can continue shopping and get me a house in the city!

Anyway my starbucks is wearing off.. Peace!

presenting ....... HM

HM aka High Maintenance is the name of my bonsai plant.

My Asian co-worker broke down the science behind this hobby. Basically the art is to grow the tree so that its stays miniature and grows in a design that is breath taking.
Its plant slavery because to achieve these results one must bind the branches with wire and prune away the branches so that it will grow in the direction dictated by the owner. My little baby bonsai isn't the pretty type but its special "attribute" is that the roots grow above ground. I haven't figured out a plan for how to take care of this sukka but I will soon because these plants can live for 10yrs+ and the longer you own them the more you can sell it for, thus the plant is now an investment lol.

It's time to update my wants list.. after years of surviving with a broke Dooney & Bouke wristlet with a broke zipper and that replacement D&B that broke, I finally caught a Macys sale the featured a reduced Coach Wristlets. Coupled with my xmas gift card I saved, bought the total bill to 18$ for:
$70 Retail price on sale for 40 -$25 gift card= 18 bill.

I have a new item on the list $20 Chanel nailpolish. Found in this month's INstyle featuring Rianna who has come a LONG way fashion wise she pulled a Lil' Wayne on society because she is fab now (not a huge fan of music but I respect it and her look is Great!!).
Anyway I'm sad to say I'm displeased with the MAC laquer. The colors rock but I cannot deal with the chipping. I've tried every no chip top color but by day 2 its a hot mess! Now folks feel Capladyz spend without any thought or rational, so not true. All we desire is quality products now if that comes through a top label so be it. I love and respect MAC makeup but the polish does not cut it for my fingers, stays on OK with my toes (weird) so I'm willing to to pay for the Chanel polish and hope that it will look good and stay on without any chipping. I'm a fashion magazine fanatic and INstyle is one of my favs so I'm going to trust their recommendiation on the polish.

I'm done the Kimora book which was WAY better than what I thought Full review will be up by the weekend.

Mom in town only 2 more days loving the QT but tired of the naggin lol must go now and put out some laundry for her to wash tomorow while I'm at work since apparently, I don't do a good job lol.

Enjoying tonight's full moon

Yes the moon energy is transiting my sign here some sage wisdom on what this means:

The Moon is in Capricorn all day. We are especially aware of the need for structure and planning ahead under this influence, and we are instinctively aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success--achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.

Full moon energy can be felt days after the actual event has ended..but moving on...

My mom's in town for a week. Takes a while for us to warm back up to sharing a living space but we enjoy each others company(eventually)- we both won't be around forever, so have to make the most of of the visit. Possible trip to see the DC panda on Monday or maybe go see the new baby sea turtle at the DC Aquarium.

My aunt came to drop off my mom to my apt while I was work. I asked her to pick me up a new plant because one of mines died. I currently have 1 cactus, 1 plant (passed down from a coworker i don't know what the hell it is) and my old spider plant that I killed because it got too much sun light. So I specifically tell her buy a new plant that can live in apartment or chill on the balcony LOW MAINTENANCE! Now ask me what I found when I got home from work.

That is an Bonsai Ficus Ginseng Plant. Actually when I googled it bammas on-line said its a Tree not a plant. She bought me a tree for my apt!!! Bonsai at that, I've seen those folks on tv with the tool sets snipping away- I'm not a gardener I don't have time to treat a plan like a child- plus I think she was secretly mocking me and my natural lifestyle. Like I drink ginseng tea am I supposed to hack at my plant when I have the need for energy- LMAO on that note I'm out.

Ill post some pics of my actual "tree" lata.
